Steward Ownership of Business

This is very much in line with Rudolf Steiner's view of one fruitful direction for the transformation of economic life. So it will perhaps not be surprising that RSF Social Finance, a Steiner-inspired non-profit, has been involved (together with the man and non-profit presented in the video below) in the transition of companies to a steward-ownership structure (for example, Organically Grown Company, one of the largest independent organic produce distributors in the country). Also, check out the corporate logos that appear at certain moments on the screen behind the speaker. Those are steward-owned companies, and some of them (for example Wala and Dr.Hauschka) were formed due to the inspiration of Steiner's ideas.

A Couple of Videos About Benefit Corporations

The following 15-minute TED talk was given by Bart Houlahan, one of the founders of B-Lab, a non-profit that certifies benefit corporations. Benefit corporations are a significant step in the direction of a more cooperative capitalism, and thus from a threefolding perspective represent inspiring progress. No doubt that is why Rudolf Steiner Social Finance has been an important financial backer of B-Lab.


Below is another useful short video that explains more about benefit corporations, and the difference between those and B-corps:
